The SCWIBLES Learning Modules are classroom and/or field trip activities designed to be used by teachers to help involve students in inquiry-based endeavors. They have been designed through a cooperative process involving teachers and SCWIBLES fellows and have been “field-tested” in actual high school classes in Watsonville High School, California.
Each module includes background, instructional, assessment and supplemental documents that the teacher can use to perform the activity in their own classroom.
The modules aim to incorporate Next Generation Science Standard (NGSS) Practices, Cross Cutting Concepts, and Disciplinary Core Ideas.
Some modules represent complete learning units of several weeks, some are single lesson plans, and some are designed for short elements within a lesson plan.
Browse our Gallery of Modules, or search for modules that meet your specific needs on our NGSS search page.
If you use the modules, and have suggestions and observations, please add your comments by clicking on the associated thought bubble so we and others can benefit from your experiences.
