Nina Arnberg – GK-12 Fellow 2010
I am interested in both scientific research and developing science curriculum that will teach students how to think and learn like scientists. My PhD thesis is in the field of ecology & evolutionary biology, more specifically studying the evolution of animal behavior. I also incorporated a chapter on education focusing on scientific and engineering explanations.
As a graduate student, I developed and taught curriculum to promote diversity in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields. As a SCWIBLES fellow, I supported teachers in incorporating scientific practices into everyday classroom learning as well as motivated students to engage with science in a fun and informative way.
